Hi everyone,

My girlfriend is from Spain and I am American. We have been separated from each other for the vast majority of this year, other than one month we spent together in the U.K this Summer when it was open since she works in London.

In order to see each other, we made a plan for her to go to the Dominican Republic to quarantine for 15 days and then fly to the U.S. She is currently on her 11th day of 15 total before taking a flight from the Dominican Republic to the U.S. She has a Covid test appointment for the 13th day and should get the result back that evening.

Assuming she will get a negative test result -- has anyone done anything like this recently and can confirm that this plan will work?

Hi Jack,
I'm spanish and my girlfriend lives in USA. We have been separated too lots of time. We are desperate, the truth is that we had many plans to meet but COVID has broken them all. Besides, I have the desire to be able to travel to the USA to stay there and be able to work and start a new life, but from what I have investigated it is difficult, almost impossible, unless we get married, we don't want to do it because we don't believe in it. Jack, and I know what it's like to look for a needle in a haystack
Could you tell me in any way or person who knows how to advise me to see if they can help me to establish myself in the USA?
As far as I know, Spaniards cannot leave Spain, not even from our towns and municipalities. I hope that at least with this they allow the entry to Spain of our couples who live abroad and thus be able to see each other here, in Spain.

DavidAlcntaraHernndez Hey David. It's a good question, we are hoping that her company will eventually transfer her on a work visa, and I think that's your best path forward to being able to get citizenship. I am sorry to hear you're going through all of that, though. Hopefully the Biden administration will make things easier for permanent citizenship pathways other than just marriage, but who knows.

I am happy for you that you and your girlfriend are doing this and wish you good luck! I did not this before but I have read that many have done this what you guys are doing and it should works!
