Flup Ja das reicht Viel Glück! 😉
Hello guys, I work and live in Berlin, Germany and want to invite my russian girlfriend on invitiation. Can you please let me know the process for that? Do I need to only write a letter for that and send to her via post?
rajchaudhary Hello! I’m from the US and my boyfriend German, in currently in Germany visiting him. In regards to your question he did send me an email of a handwritten invitation with his address and him inviting me to come see him in both German and English. He scanned copies of everything and emailed me and also sent it by mail. I never received the mailed originals before my trip and the boarder police said it was fine. Everything worked out for us
rajchaudhary Hey budd! I am in a similar situation as well. I want to invite my Russian girlfriend here in Berlin where I live. How do I do that? If you've already been through this experience, maybe you can help me. It would be a great help. Thanks!
Roxielyn Thank you so much for the information! Is hand written invitation necessary? or Can I just write a letter and print it out send it to my girlfriend?
@Roxielyn Hello! I just saw your post that you were able to enter Germany. If I may ask, did you have any trouble getting in? I am so anxious about traveling this weekend and being refused entry. Any advice or tips? Did you need a COVID test to fly? You're one of the first people I have found who had success getting in, and I would greatly appreciate any information you can send along. Thank you so much!
mrymsza hi! I know exactly how you feel and I was the same way. I noticed on here people don’t reply back so I made a point to help out if I could. The only way problem I had was leaving the US, they told me I needed a Covid test but I politely asked them to keep reading the document as it stated a test within 48 hours prior to departure or on arrival. I opted to take a test on arrival. They were surprised and said yeah every country is different lol. Then they let me proceed. To be on the safe side I flew in from Texas straight to German. I landed in Frankfurt and did see passport control and had no problem. I presented them with the health registration, invitation from my boyfriend and declaration. He wanted to be sure the copy of his passport matched the pictures I presented along with my face LOL. Then I was able to go on to my next flight to Berlin. I would say the hard part is getting out of the US and it’s smooth sailing in Germany. If I can help with anything else let me know.
mrymsza also check the airport you land in and they could possible do your Covid test on arrival. If they offer this test at the airport you can register and pay for it before hand and print it up. It will be good to show the US side so you can leave the states.
mrymsza hi! I’m from Peru and I could travel 2 weeks ago to Austria which has the same rules than Germany about life partners. I hope it helps you my Austrian boyfriend wrote an invitation letter in German and English plus his passport picture but it wasn’t enough for Netherlands who was my first stop so he had to asked her embassy (embassy of Austria in Holland) to write an official letter that say Austria has a law about life partner and it’s an exception of the travel restriction in Europe bc of corona. When I Had to fly I had my invitation letter, his passport copy, the embassy letter, the corona test and many other documents to prove my relationship but the true is that in Netherlands they asked me for the letter embassy and my partners letter that’s all I could fly without problem. Good luck!
Roxielyn I can't thank you enough for sending along some information. I'm flying out today, so fingers crossed!! You've been such a huge help -- definitely makes me less nervous to fly. I hope you are having a wonderful visit to Germany!
Hey there I am happy to hear that you were able to make it through. If you don't mind me asking what what information is needed for the invitation? I did not know that we could test upon arrival instead of the 48 hours prior. Where can I find this information? I am planning a trip at the end of April and I want to be ready. So in Germany they didn't hassle you that is good news I'm so nervous yet so excited its been 13 months since I have seen my boyfriend.
Roxielyn You have been so helpful, so I thought I'd ask you first. My fiancé's apartment is one room with a single bed. It's not really suitable for 2 people. Normally we spend our time together traveling, but clearly not this time. Is he allowed to rent a place nearby for our stay? Something that will fit 2 people? Or must it be at his residence in Germany?
AdiNoelle Hi Adi, from my understanding it should be his residence. Or if you decide to rent a place this would have to be the place you put in your health registration.
Roxielyn What health am I registering through? Is it a number to call or website?
AdiNoelle it’s the digital health registration for Germany. It’s called einreiseanmeldung. http://www.einreiseanmeldung.de/
you have to fill this out if you have been in a risk area 10days prior to entering Germany. I also got travel health insurance before coming as well just in case I did get sick. All is well thank goodness.
Roxielyn Thank you! Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Also another question does the invitation have to be typed or it can be handwritten original?
Sorry I have so many questions I just want to be super prepared for this.
annrod Hello! I’m happy that you will get to see your boyfriend finally. I know the distance is hard. As of last week they changed the rules and you will have to receive a test 48 hours prior to entering the country. Without this the US airports will not allow you to fly. The invitation my boyfriend provided for me was handwritten and it just said who he was and his home address and he invited me his girlfriend, with my full name. to visit him on these specific dates. Also his signature, he wrote them in German and English in the same paper and he scanned and emailed them to me. He also mailed them to my home address but didn’t make it in time and I received them while I was in Germany. So it will work if they are scanned and printed. Also be sure you have pictures of you two together. I also printed up our flight tickets/itinerary for each time we have meet up. When entering German it was a smooth process to felt it was more difficult to leave the states. If I can help you further let me know.
Thank you for responding, I am planning my trip for the end of April which will be here before I know it. Ok good to know so the invitation isn't all that extensive real simple I was wondering if handwritten was ok. So the airlines are aware of this unmarried couples thing. I am in California and will be flying out from there so I will just have to show them my documents here in the states as well? Main focus is that negative test.
Also the declaration of relationship pdf that is found on the site. He doesn't need to expand on our relationship like how long we have been together or when we met? Also what about the quarantine process coming back home?
annrod sorry it took me so long to respond but no, there will be no need to say how long y’all ha e been together. Just fill out what is asked in the declaration both English and German version. In the states they will only be sure you have your test and you should be good to go. Once arrived in Germany they are aware of the relationship rules and will just want to see pictures of you two together and all the other paperwork work required like the invitation (handwritten is fine), declaration, and your health registration.
Hey, anyone knows, can I only stay in a place where my boyfriend live, or we can stay in a hotel if we have booking? I would like to go in the end of February, so very curious, thanks in advance
I'm not to sure about that to be honest. I would check and see if hotels are allowing long stays for people coming out of the country. I thought I read somewhere that they weren't but I could be mistaking check into that.
anestyParadise in Germany they are not allowing hotels to be booked for tourism. Only for business trips and you will find a lot of the Hotels are closed. Maybe try Airbnb, it could be possible.
MiluskaOrtizAngeles yes in Amsterdam they require a letter from the embassy in order to fly into Germany, so I flew from Texas strait to Frankfurt then Berlin. I thought it would be easier than trying to get ahold of the embassy.
Hola! La carta de la embajada de Austria en Holanda menciona algo en específico?? Se puede descargar o de lo enviaron a el? Porfa!
