Belgium is allowing sweethearts to enter Belgium from Sep 1

Two days ago, there has been an official announcement by the Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès where she says that sweethearts will be allowed to enter Belgium from September 1st:

People who have been physically separated in recent months because they come from different countries and who can provide proof of a lasting relationship but are not married will be able to cross the border from 1 September. These people will be subject to the same testing and quarantine rules as all others.

More details will likely follow early next week.

The conditions imposed on unmarried cross-border couples to be able to travel and meet again were relaxed on Wednesday by the National Security Council (NSC), the office of Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès announced.

From now on, physically separated couples will be required to “prove at least six months of living together, one year of relationship or, as before, the existence of a child together,” the Prime Minister’s office announced.
